Wohler and Hallman earn top 100 ratings in EA SPORTS College Football 25

Badger defensive backs Ricardo Hallman and Hunter Wohler garnered top 100 ratings in EA Sports’ College Football 25, as announced in the video game’s ratings reveal on Wednesday morning. Hallman, the 2023 FBS interception leader, earned a 91 overall rating while Wohler was tabbed at 90. Wisconsin joined Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State to be one of six Big Ten programs with multiple top 100 players in the game.

Hallman, who grabbed an FBS-leading seven interceptions in 2023, earned AP Third Team All-America status during his redshirt sophomore season. Hallman started all 13 games at cornerback and was also tabbed All-Big Ten third team. Hallman’s seven picks were the most for a Badger since 2007 and the most for a Badger cornerback since 2000. The Miami native is the first Big Ten player since 2016 to return for another collegiate season after grabbing 7+ interceptions.

Hallman recorded a game-changing 95-yard pick-six against Rutgers in 2023, the longest UW interception return against a Big Ten opponent since 1954. By earning a 93 speed rating at the game’s launch, Hallman will be one of 10 players in the top 100 with a 93 speed rating or better.

Wohler, who enters his senior season in 2024, earned AP First Team All-Big Ten honors after a dominant defensive season in 2023. Wohler led all Big Ten defensive backs with 120 tackles, the most for a Badger DB since 1991. By returning for his senior season, Wohler becomes the first Big Ten DB to return after a 120+ tackle campaign since at least 2005.

A Muskego, Wis., native, Wohler was frequently featured in Wisconsin’s versatile ‘dollar’ position in 2023. He became the first Big Ten defensive back to post 110+ tackles, a sack and multiple interceptions in the same season since 2010. He’s only the second Badger DB to do so since 1966.

EA Sports’ College Football 25 releases on Friday, July 19, with early access starting on July 16. The video game, which returns after a 10+ year hiatus, will feature Wisconsin players, traditions and authentic Camp Randall Stadium game experience elements.
