What kinds of conditions trigger a Weather Impact Alert?
The 13 Weather Impact Team has always alerted you when the weather was severe, and now we’re also highlighting when inconvenient weather can throw a wrench in your plans.
Of course, tornadoes, damaging hail, dangerous thunderstorms, snow, flooding rain, dangerous temperatures and other storms will cause George, Sam, Blake, and Amber to put out a Weather Impact Alert.
But Weather Impact Alerts will also cover nuisance weather like heavy rain and wind or when less-than-ideal weather conditions are expected for big events or during commuting hours.
You might see our 13 Weather Impact Team call for a 13 Weather Impact Alert for an entire day. That means significant weather is coming and you need to take action. Or you might see one called for a few hours during a particular day, meaning you might need to adjust some plans during that time frame.
Either way, the 13 Weather Impact Team will arm you with details on when the threat is coming, what the impact will be to you and what you need to do. No matter the alert, you will have a heads up for any weather that might impact you and your family.
