Dog owners and their pups enjoyed a fun night of summer weather and specialty drinks for the first-ever Patio Pup Night.
Werner Books opened its patio to the community Thursday night, offering coffee for the people and “pup cups” for the dogs.
The bookstore partnered with Sundae Vegan Dessert and Ice Cream to raise money for the Erie Humane Society.
The bookstore’s co-owner said he hopes to fundraise for other local animal shelters at future events to get more use out of their new patio.
“We’re hoping to do one of these at least once a month, maybe more. As long as the weather holds, we really want a lot of events outside, so if we can have events out here like this, this really gives us a great opportunity to do that,” said Kyle Churman, co-owner, Werner Books and Coffee.
Churman said they will host events inside the bookstore when the weather gets colder.
