TikTok unveils a dedicated in-app hub to go all out for BTS’ Jimin’s return to music with his upcoming sophomore album, MUSE.
TikTok is going all out to celebrate BTS’ Jimin and his highly anticipated sophomore album, MUSE. The short-form video sharing platform, the self-proclaimed leader in music discovery, has announced a new immersive in-app hub, offering BTS fans an interactive experience and access to exclusive content.
Fans can dive into the #Jimin Who hub by clicking on the search banner that appears alongside related terms like ‘Jimin’ or ‘BTS.’ Fans will be presented with challenges to unlock a limited-time exclusive profile frame, as well as getting access to top-performing content from Jimin and a Fan Spotlight showcasing standout members of the BTS fandom, the ARMY.
“K-pop has emerged as one of the fastest-growing genres on TikTok, with K-pop artists comprising 50% of the most-viewed global artists in 2023,” says TikTok. “The #kpop hashtag has generated 59.8 million posts and amassed 602 billion video views.”
Since their debut over a decade ago, BTS has established themselves as worldwide pop icons, breaking countless world records and becoming the fourth biggest artist account on TikTok. The band has amassed over 65.5 million followers and received 1.4 billion likes. Hashtags related to the group continue to generate huge engagement, even while most members of BTS are currently serving their required South Korean military service, with #bts appearing in 94.1 million creator videos and BTS’ official TikTok account with 33.4 million.
Meanwhile, hashtags related to Jimin have been featured in over 22.9 million creator videos. Following the release of his debut solo album last year, Jimin’s No. 1 track, “Like Crazy,” inspired over 300,000 creator videos. The related dance video posted on the group’s TikTok was viewed over 36.2 million times and received more than 8.6 million likes.
Recently, Jimin shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes video of his pre-release single, “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)” from the upcoming MUSE, which has enjoyed 11 million views and 2.5 million likes.
