I’m writing on behalf of a charity near and dear to my heart: the Victoria Falls Children’s Trust.
So many parents in Zimbabwe are unable to afford the school fees to send their at-risk children to get the most basic education. School in Zimbabwe is not free for anyone. But the kiddos this charity helps are at even more risk of not getting an education.
Dear friends of mine are the founders of this effort, Mags and Leon Varley. I have known them since 1998 and know the efforts they have put forth improve the lives of these children. They have organized a walking fundraiser for a number or years to raise funds to enable these children to pay their school fees. It is a grueling trek. A 156 km/approximately 78-mile walk through Zimbabwe. In exchange for their extraordinary effort, they only ask for small donations. Despite uneasy times, we are so fortunate to live in a country where children are not left behind.
I humbly ask that you visit our US GoFundMe site. Simply type in “Victoria Falls Children’s Trust” to make any donation you have in your heart. The first walkers recently completed their journey, and the July walkers are heading out soon. All funds will be given to the trust for school fees.
Please note that this is not a 501(c)(3) so not tax deductible but so, so very worthy.
