Southern Company CEO Expects More Industry Commitments for Lightwater Nuclear Reactors in U.S. Before 2030

(Reuters) – Southern Company CEO Chris Womack expects more industry commitments to build large lightwater nuclear reactors in the United States before 2030, the executive said at a nuclear power conference on Monday.

“The announcements will be before the end of this decade,” Womack said at the American Nuclear Society conference in Las Vegas.
