Pokemon Fan Creates Impressive Stained Glass Art of Bulbasaur

Highlights

  • A Pokemon fan created a unique stained glass Bulbasaur artwork.
  • The Pokemon community frequently creates fan art of Generation 1 starters.
  • Fans eagerly anticipate future Generations of Pokemon games and fan art.

A Pokemon fan online has created an impressive piece of stained glass artwork depicting the iconic Grass-type Generation 1 starter, Bulbasaur. There’s no shortage of Bulbasaur Pokemon fan art online, but this particular piece stands out thanks to its unique stained glass approach.

All three Generation 1 starters, Bulbasaur included, are frequently used by the Pokemon community as subjects of fan art. The reason for this is pretty simple – gamers have had almost three decades to become familiar with these Pokemon, and gamers who have been playing since Generation 1 will have used them as their starters throughout the entire original games. Naturally, this means that more fan art is created of these Pokemon than many others out there. Just recently, a Pokemon fan designed a Nintendo DS-era 3D model for Bulbasaur, imagining what the iconic Pokemon would look like if the DS games had moved away from sprites a little earlier.

Redditor nigh-tempest shared their awesome artwork, which they described as their “lil stained glass Bulbasaur buddy.” The piece is awesome, capturing one of the best Pokemon Grass-type designs perfectly in a unique stained glass style. It’s not clear whether they have an intended purpose for the design, but it would certainly look awesome displayed in any Pokemon fan’s home.

Pokemon Stained Glass Bulbasaur

Although the Pokemon series first appeared all the way back in 1996, its community remains as dedicated as ever. With over 1,000 Pokemon designs in total across nine Generations now, fans have plenty of choice when it comes to fan art subjects. Because of the amount of Pokemon fan art, it takes something properly unique to stand out among the crowd, such as the Pokemon fan who gave the Johto starters an Okami-inspired twist. Considering how popular the series remains worldwide, gamers should expect to see plenty more fan art like this for years to come.

It has been a couple of years now since the Pokemon series released Generation 9 with Scarlet and Violet. However, gamers are already looking forward to what the future holds for the series. It seems like Generation 9 will conclude with Pokemon Legends: Z-A, although beyond that, the future is a little less clear. Game Freak is yet to reveal its plans, although a recent Pokemon leak confirmed Generation 10 could arrive as soon as 2026. It should be noted that as with any leak, this could change in the coming two years, with any unexpected roadblocks not factored into that release period.
