Bustling activity filled the Dover clubhouse, as people streamed in the front doors, chatted with vendors, grabbed some giveaways and swayed to the music. This was the return of the Thrive Dover – Senior Life After 55 event on July 19. The 2024 lifestyle event brought exhibitors, food and activities, presented by the Daily State News in partnership with Noble’s Pond.
Active seniors were invited to learn, explore and enjoy this free event at Noble’s Pond, a 55+ lifestyle community. Activities included a cooking demo, several dance demonstrations, floral arranging demos, door prizes, model home tours and many vendors who shared expert knowledge on activities, health, home, finance and more.
“Our goal for our Thrive events is to offer information to help improve the lifestyle of our senior community,” said Heather Cregar, Banner director of marketing and promotions.
“In essence, age 55+ can be seen as a time to thrive because it offers a combination of experience, resources and personal freedom that enable individuals to pursue their passions, maintain health and well-being—and make meaningful contributions to society and their own lives,” said Jessica Cook, DSN special events manager.
Relatively new to the area is Stephen Clark, just one Thrive guest who retired to Delaware and enjoys building a life around all the nearby activities.
“I’m getting involved with the community here,” Clark said. “I love it here.”
Event sponsors who made this day possible include Bayhealth, plus Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
