Nomura: Jwalant Nanavati appointed as Nomura’s Head of I-Banking, Asia ex-Japan

Jwalant Nanavati has been appointed Head of Investment Banking, Asia ex-Japan, at Nomura, with effect from July 17, 2024, said a press statement. He will also continue in his role as Head of Southeast Asia with additional responsibility for East Asia.Jwalant will partner with Andrew Macgonigal, who has been appointed Co-Head of Investment Banking, Asia ex-Japan, in addition to his role as Head of Investment Banking, Australia, and CEO of Nomura Australia, and Akihiro Koseki, who will remain Co-Head of Investment Banking, Asia ex-Japan.

Jwalant will drive Nomura’s client first, content led strategy with a focus on growing the firm’s M&A Advisory productivity while capitalizing on associated Financing and Solutions cross-sell opportunities. Jwalant Nanavati will also lead Nomura’s Head of Technology, Media and Services, Investment Banking, Asia ex-Japan.

Jwalant has over 20 years of investment banking experience gained from roles based in Singapore, Hong Kong, Mumbai and New York.

He joined Nomura in 2018 from BNP Paribas, where he was Managing Director, Co-Head of TMT Investment Banking, Asia Pacific. Prior to that, he was responsible for BNP Paribas’s investment banking business in India. Jwalant has also held various roles at Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers during his career.

Jwalant has completed management programs in leadership from Kellogg Business School and IMD. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Economics from Northwestern University.Whatsapp Banner
