VIZ Media is launching a major sale of popular anime series, including major shonen hits such as Naruto, Bleach and Hunter x Hunter, with complete box sets currently over 80% off on digital services for a limited time.
North American anime and manga licensor VIZ Media is offering a huge digital sale on many of the biggest anime series for “Anime Month.” VIZ is collaborating with Apple, Google, Microsoft and VUDU for the sale, which sees titles like Naruto: The Complete Series (previously $437.80) currently discounted by 86% down to just $59.99. Similarly, Bleach: The Complete Series (previously $519.87) is down nearly 81% to $99, while Hunter x Hunter 2011: The Complete Series (previously $257.99) is down 88% to $29.99. Shonen Jump’s Big Three Anime Adaptations Get Massive Discounts in VIZ’s Current Sale
In addition to Naruto and Bleach, fellow Big Three anime series One Piece has also seen huge discounts. Seasonal box sets for the entire series are all down by 45%, but for Episode 1 to 205, fans with Microsoft Game Pass can get 61% off, bringing the sets down from $17.99 to $6.99. Each box set contains around 11-12 episodes. Dragon Ball Super and GT are well-represented, while the sales also provide an interesting set of options in the case of Naruto. Netflix just added three of the highest-rated Naruto films to the platform for July, with VIZ offering each of the films for $4.99 (down from $12.99).
Ranma 1/2’s Major Viz Sale Comes as an Anime Reboot Is Officially Announced
While neither the Boruto nor Naruto Shippuden TV series were part of the deal, they are both available on some of the most popular anime streaming services in the U.S., such as Hulu and Crunchyroll. Hulu recently added dozens of Boruto episodes in June and have confirmed that all of Naruto Shippuden will join the platform in 2025. VIZ’s deals also come at major milestones or turning points for certain series; the Sound! Euphonium movie sale follows the TV series’ recent conclusion, while Ranma 1/2: The Complete Series is currently over 92% off, with a reboot series recently announced to be in production.
