Supermodel Naomi Campbell has two children, a three year old daughter and 12-month-old son, who were both born via a surrogate and she is determined to give them a similar upbringing to her own
Naomi Campbell has opened up about the future of raising her two children.
The iconic 54-year-old supermodel is mother to a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son born via surrogate, is still undecided about where to “set up shop” but is keen for her children to experience the joys of a London upbringing just like she did. But while the star rarely shares an insight into her life, she recently opened up about motherhood.
Over the weekend, Naomi confirmed that she has no intentions of looking for a father for her two children. In 2021, she rocked the world when she confirmed she had become a mum for the first time. Two years later, Naomi revealed she had welcomed a second child, a son but chose not to share his name.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Naomi expressed her love of where she grew up and how she plans to raise her children: “I love London and I want my kids educated here. I loved going to school in London, and I’d like my kids to follow in my footsteps.” She continued, musing over her future plans: “I haven’t decided where we are going to set up shop, but I hope it’s here.”
The icon also made it clear that she prefers the British approach to schooling, saying, “I like the English education system, absolutely. I don’t like the American version of the English education system.” Juggling her career with motherhood, Naomi tries to keep her trips short to avoid being away from her little ones for too long, embracing the spontaneity of life as a parent.
She shared her thoughts on motherhood: “Motherhood is so much fun. You just don’t know what’s going to happen at any given moment. I feel like I’m reliving my childhood. I just hate leaving home.”
She added, “These days when I travel, I try to make it not longer than 48 hours as it’s too disruptive. Unless I can do a job in and out, then the kids have to come with.”
Her daughter seems to be taking after her mum with a passion for dance, although Naomi admits her own dance class attendance could be better. Reflecting on her aspirations and hobbies, Naomi said: “I don’t know about a star, but I definitely wanted to be in theatre or the arts as I loved dancing.”
She concluded with a familiar lament: “Whenever I’m in London I’m always saying I want to go to class. But I never find the time. There’s nothing that smells like a ballet room the floor, the bar – it’s the freedom of expression of dance that I love so much. My daughter likes to dance too.”
