1. Cyber Insurance Partnership for MSPs, MSSPs: SeedPod Cyber, an embedded cyber insurance program provider for MSPs, MSSPs and their clients, is partnering with Seceon, a cybersecurity platform provider for MSPs, MSSPs and enterprises. This partnership uses Seceon’s AI and ML-powered aiSIEM, aiXDR and aiMSSP capabilities to streamline the cyber insurance application and underwriting process. SeedPod Cyber rewards Seceon partners and clients who meet required cybersecurity controls with cyber insurance and savings of up to 30%, the company said.
2. Threat Defense for Channel Partners: Malwarebytes, a specialist in real-time cyber protection, has announced new features for the ThreatDown product portfolio that streamline cybersecurity for channel partners. New features include expanded DNS filtering capabilities, enhancements to the ThreatDown Admin app and a new patch history report, the company said.
3. Tech Partnership Targets MSPs, MSSPs: Heimdal, a cybersecurity solutions provider, has delivered an integration with Autotask PSA, a professional services automation tool developed by Datto, a Kaseya company. This new integration is poised to significantly enhance support ticket creation and management, driving productivity and unlocking new commercial opportunities for Heimdal customers and partners, MSPs and MSSPs included, the company said.
4. Wiz Calls Off Deal with Google: Israeli cybersecurity startup Wiz has reportedly ended talks with Google-parent Alphabet over a potential $23 billion deal in which it would have become the U.S. tech giant’s largest-ever acquisition. 5. OT Security Advancement: Nozomi Networks, an OT and IoT security specialist, has brought to market what it describes as the industry’s first security sensor that runs embedded in Mitsubishi Electric programmable logic controllers (PLCs). With Arc Embedded, security and operations teams gain previously unavailable visibility at the process level of their industrial automation equipment and field assets, as well as the ability to analyze and deter process level threats and malicious user activity without impacting current resources or disrupting mission-critical networks, the company said.
6. Leadership Move: Bedrock Security, a data security company, has appointed co-founder Bruno Kurtic to president and CEO. Co-founder Pranava Adduri has been appointed to the role of chief technology officer and co-founder Ganesha Shanmuganathan as the chief architect.
7. Funding Round: Cybersecurity company Protexxa has announced the close of its second funding round. Founded by global information technology and cybersecurity executive Claudette McGowan, the company’s AI-powered platform, Protexxa Defender, rapidly identifies, evaluates and resolves cyber issues, the company said. Also, after raising a $5 million Seed in 2022, Protexxa set a new record in Canada for the largest amount raised by a sole Black woman founder.
8. Leadership Move: Commvault, a provider of cyber resilience and data protection solutions for the hybrid cloud, has named Pranay Ahlawat as its first chief technology and AI officer (CTAIO). Reporting to Rajiv Kottomtharayil, chief product officer, Ahlawat will oversee Commvault’s product vision and development lifecycle, focusing on helping customers advance cyber resilience, including through modern AI technologies.
9. Code Security Release: Secure Code Warrior has released SCW Trust Agent, a solution that assesses the specific security competencies of developers for every code commit. This offering enables CISOs and application security teams to embrace a Secure-by-Design approach with deeper visibility into their organizations’ software development security posture, Secure Code Warrior said.
10. Threat Defense Offer: Zero Networks, a provider of zero trust security solutions, has introduced new segmentation capabilities specifically designed to block lateral movement during an attack against operational technology (OT) systems. Built into Zero Networks Segment, a key component of Zero Networks’ unified zero trust platform, this capability drastically reduces the risk of ransomware attacks against industries with a heavy reliance on OT devices, including manufacturing, healthcare, oil and gas, transportation and utilities, the company said.
