Johnstown software company launches app for local baseball fans | News

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – A Johnstown-based software development firm has launched an advanced online ticketing platform and fan mobile app for the Johnstown Mill Rats.

The app is now available on the web, the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

The collaboration of Sourceree and the Mill Rats organization marks a significant step forward in fan engagement, the organizations said in a press release.

Upcoming features will include purchasing concessions and buying merchandise, all through one mobile app that no other team in the league has, according to the partnering Johnstown organizations.

“We are excited to partner with the Johnstown Mill Rats to create more engagement with the community and revolutionize the fan experience,” Adam Murphy, president of Sourceree, said in the press release.

Murphy foresees other local organizations benefitting from similarly designed white-label apps.

“Our goal is to create a platform that not only enhances the way fans interact with their favorite teams, but also provides a scalable solution for schools, little leagues, dance studios, sports teams, and other organizations looking to streamline their event operations,” he said. “We are particularly excited to work with local schools and organizations to provide them with this capability, enhancing their events and fan engagement.”

Sarah Rex, general manager of the Mill Rats, said that from purchasing tickets to ordering food and beverages for pickup and potentially delivered directly to seats, the app provides a comprehensive and enjoyable gameday experience.

“The Johnstown Mill Rats are delighted to work with Sourceree on this innovative project,” Rex said in the press release. “We have had a great experience working locally with Sourceree this summer to leverage technology in ways we never thought we could. This new app will help improve our fan experience and allow us to stay connected with them even in the offseason.”
