Jason George is returning to “Grey’s Anatomy” as a series regular after seven seasons of starring spinoff series “Station 19,” which aired its series finale in May.
George joined “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2010, playing surgical resident Ben Warren as a recurring role beginning with Season 6, before being upped to series regular in 2015’s Season 12.
After three seasons as a series regular, he left the series to join “Station 19” in 2018, with Ben deciding to become a firefighter. The spinoff was led by George and fellow “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Stefania Stefania Spampinato as Carina DeLuca alongside new cast members Jaina Lee Ortiz, Grey Damon, Barrett Doss, Alberto Frezza, Jay Hayden, Okieriete Onaodowan, Danielle Savre, Miguel Sandoval, Boris Kodjoe, Carlos Miranda, Josh Randall, Merle Dandridge and Pat Healy.
In the series finale of “Station 19,” titled “One Last Time,” Ben makes the decision to return to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and work as a surgeon again.
“Grey’s Anatomy” was created by Shonda Rhimes, who executive produces alongside showrunner Meg Marinis, Betsy Beers, Krista Vernoff, Mark Gordon, Debbie Allen and Zoanne Clack. ABC Signature is the studio.
The series, which was recently renewed for its 21st season, is one of the most popular TV titles in the U.S., making the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 almost every single week. All 430 episodes are available to stream on Hulu, while Seasons 1-19 stream on Netflix with Season 20 releasing soon.
