MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was lying in bed watching television when he was shot in his chest, leaving him in critical condition, Memphis Police say.
On Sunday, officers responded to a shooting in the 1700 block of McNair Street in Nutbush. The victim said he was in his bed when he heard gunshots and was struck in his upper right chest.
Officers rendered aid and found that the bullet was still in his body. He was taken to Regional One in critical condition.
A witness told police she saw the suspects get into a white SUV and flee the scene.
At around 5 a.m. Monday, a security officer told police that a white Infiniti Q50, with four to five juveniles inside, was responsible for the shooting. The car was parked in front of Bald Eagle Drive; police ran the tags and VIN number and found that it was stolen.
No suspect information is available at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
