Global IT outage live: Australian banks, flights and media outlets hit by CrowdStrike software issue

Prague Airport is experiencing delays to departures due to what it says is an outage of the global check-in system used by a large number of airlines, the airport said on X social media platform.

London’s Gatwick airport said it was affected by “global Microsoft issues” in a post on X.

“Passengers may experience some delays while checking in and passing through security,” the post said.

Air France operations have also been disrupted, the airline said, adding that flights already en route were not affected.

“Air France confirms that following a global IT issue notably affecting several airlines and airports around the world, its operations are disrupted,” it said.

SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) booking engine is affected, making it impossible to book a ticket online, the airline said on its website.

The infamous “blue screens of death” have been spotted at other airports around the world too, including the San Francisco international airport.

ABC readers have reported delays and issues at several other airports, including the Naples International Airport in Italy, LAX in the United States and Da Nang in Vietnam.
