JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A single-vehicle collision late Saturday night resulted in one fatality, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP).
Master Trooper Gary Miller said the incident occurred at approximately 11:25 p.m. on US-321, near Cal Causeway Road, about nine and a half miles west of Ridgeland.
A 2019 Dodge Coupe, traveling north on US Highway 321, veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. Authorities said the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jasper County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.
The SCHP is continuing to investigate the collision.
