The EveryWoman Book Club invites University of Alabama faculty, staff, graduate students and the general public to participate in its monthly events. UA’s Women and Gender Resource Center has organized this book club for over 15 years. The club meets monthly to discuss literature written by women, with book themes often aligned with cultural heritage or awareness months.
Check out the group’s upcoming lineup:
- July 25: “When Women Were Dragons” by Kelly Barnhill
- Aug. 22: “Black Cake” by Charmaine Wilkerson
Meetings this summer are in person at noon at Legend’s Bistro inside Hotel Capstone.
The WGRC sets aside at least one copy of the selected book for club members at their library. Club members can reserve and obtain copies by contacting 205-348-5040.
You can email WGRC Program Coordinator Elizabeth Lester at elester1@ua.edu to learn more or to join the book club.
