After three months in business, Farmer’s Buffet announced its closure “with a heavy heart.”
The East Peoria buffet − which operated at 206 W. Camp St. − shared the news in an update on its business profile on Google. A photo included alongside the announcement read in part: “Our journey has come to an end!”
Farmer’s Buffet opened in mid-March, taking the place of Pho Noodle House. Owner Sam Mach described the business as an “American style” buffet ahead of the opening and said customers would find pizza, a carving station, a dessert bar, a salad bar, daily specials and more.

A Journal Star post which shared news of the opening sparked plenty of conversation among community members − with more than 360 comments and 288 shares.
In its closing announcement, Farmer’s Buffet thanked the community for its support and said, “we are incredibly thankful for the memories we’ve created together.
“Though our journey ends here, we hope the flavors and experiences you enjoyed at Farmers Buffet will remain with you,” Farmer’s Buffet wrote in the update. “Thank you for being a part of our story.”
