If you are looking for a second-hand paperback to enjoy on the beach, you’re in luck.
AMVETS Erie is giving away books, CDs and DVDs all day Friday, the thrift store opened three months ago on Liberty Street.
Its manager said the giveaway is a chance to show appreciation for the community.
She also hopes those who stop by will learn more about the store’s mission to help veterans.
“AMVETS just opened a homeless shelter in Washington County for homeless vets so all the proceeds go to help veterans, their families and special programs,” said Lisa Bodamer, manager, AMVETS Erie.
The giveaway will continue until 9 p.m. Friday evening.
