Allen Arvig, President and CEO of Arvig, has been honored with the Leaders & Legacies award from Prairie Business magazine.
Arvig is one of eight distinguished business leaders recognized in the magazine’s July issue for their significant career achievements and contributions to their companies, industries, and communities.
The Leaders & Legacies award highlights top executives in the upper Midwest who have positively impacted people’s lives and livelihoods through their leadership roles.
Under the stewardship of Allen Arvig, the company has transformed into a leading internet service provider in Minnesota and one of the largest privately owned telecommunications providers in the nation, employing over 900 people and covering a 9,000-square-mile service area.
With a career spanning 70 years, Arvig has been a pioneer in the telecommunications industry, transitioning from copper wire telephones to cable television to high-speed internet.
“This award is a proud moment in my dad’s remarkable career,” said David Arvig, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Arvig. “His dedication has profoundly impacted our company, and it’s inspiring to see that passion still in his leadership today.”
Allen and his wife, Carmen, who serves as Arvig’s Director of Employee Services, reside in Perham. They have five children, all actively involved in the company: David; Dennis Arvig, programmer analyst in the Enterprise IT Department; Michele Arvig-Biederman, perception and experience professional in the marketing department; Jay Arvig, fleet director; and Ashley Arvig, vice president and COO of Arvig Answering Solutions.
“I’d like to thank my wife, Carmen, for her unwavering support through the years,” Allen said. “Together, we’ve been able to watch our five children grow into their roles within the company. Working alongside my family is a very special opportunity.”
