Known for its rich cultural heritage and iconic tourist attractions, Thailand beckons travellers from all across to explore its gems. Digital nomads can take advantage of the Destination Thailand Visa to experience the Land of Smiles while maintaining their professional lives.

The DTV costs THB 10,000 (HKD 2,153 approx.) and is ideal for visiting purposes like learning Muay Thai (Thai martial arts form), Thai cuisine, education and seminars, sports and medical treatment.

However, to qualify for the DTV, applicants must:

  • Be at least 20 years old.
  • Have a valid passport.
  • Demonstrate financial stability with a minimum balance of THB 500,000 (HKD 107,670).
  • Provide proof of employment or business ownership outside of Thailand.

Key benefits of DTV

The minimum income required for the DTV is lower than in other Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and Japan. The visa is also family-friendly as your spouse and children can come along. Notably, travellers can change their visa type during their stay, after which the DTV will be considered null and void.

Apart from DTV, Thailand’s visa extension scheme is now valid for travellers from 93 countries instead of the 57 earlier. Additionally, tourists can now stay in the country for 60 days, instead of 30 days.
