The 2024 AthFest Music & Arts Festival, held from June 21-23 in downtown Athens, has successfully raised over $90,000 to support arts education for K-12 students in Athens-Clarke County.
How will funds be used?
These funds will be used to provide high quality, accessible music and arts education provided through the AthFest Educates Grant Program. They were earned through the following:
- Ticket sales
- Merchandise
- Beverage sales
- Sponsorships
- Vendor and artist market fees
- Individual donations
Top contribution
Smokey Jones and the 3 Dollar Pistols emerged as the top fundraising act, securing $300 and earning a guaranteed evening slot on the AthFest 2025 Main Stage.
“We are so grateful for our community’s support of AthFest,” said Executive Director of AthFestEducates Mary Joyce, in the press release. “The Festival’s success helps support ourgoal to increase AthFest Educates grant funding by 30 percent. And this year, individual donations tothe AthFest Educates mission increased by over 1,000 percent. I am thrilled to see how much Athensvalues arts education for kids in our community.”
AthFest Educates organizes two major fundraisers annually: the AthFest Music & Arts Festival and the AthHalf Half Marathon & 5K. Proceeds from these events help fund the AthFest Educates Program, which provides resources for local educators to offer high-quality music and arts education to students in Athens-Clarke County.
