How do your county’s high schools rank when compared with the rest of New Jersey and the nation?
Each spring, U.S. & World Report ranks the nation’s public high schools. The magazine collects data for nearly 25,000 public high schools based on the proportion of students who passed Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate exams, the breadth of the curriculum, graduation rates, scores on state assessments, and how Black, Hispanic and low-income students fare.
The magazine ranked nearly 18,000 schools for 2024, including charter schools. Schools at the bottom of the list did not receive numerical rankings and are listed as “unranked.”
U.S. News said nearly all the public high schools in the country were evaluated if data was available.
In Gloucester County, Kingsway Regional High School in Woolwich was the top-ranked high school in the county. It ranked 171st in the state and 4,414th in the nation.
This year, New Jersey ranked in the top three states, with 42 high schools ranking in the top 5% of schools nationally. Only Massachusetts and Connecticut ranked higher.
