Google unveils new accelerator programme for Android app Indian startups

Google, on Tuesday, announced that it is now accepting applications for the Google for Startups Accelerator: Apps program, a new initiative designed to help Android app startups grow and succeed.

“An evolution of Appscale Academy, this program, supported by the MeitY Startup Hub, up levels the momentum of ASA, offering even deeper support and mentorship to app-based startups to supercharge their growth,” the tech giant said in a release.

The Google for Startups Accelerator: Apps program is a three-month journey for 20 selected app startups. These startups will then receive tailored guidance to improve their apps, enhance their technology, boost security, and expand their user base, Google added.

Participants will have the chance to collaborate closely with teams from Android and Google Play, gaining insights into product development and growth strategies.

The programme also provides access to Google’s AI technologies and resources, helping startups leverage AI effectively. Moreover, eligible startups will receive technical expertise and Google Cloud credits through the Google for Startups Cloud Program.

All Android app-based Indian startups — preferably those in the Seed to Series A stages — are eligible to apply. Interested startups can apply by visiting the Google for Startups Accelerator: Apps program website and filling out the application form.

Applications must be submitted by August 15 and the programme will kick off in September.
