SHREVEPORT, La. – Local artists and musicians have until August 1 to submit music for Shreve Memorial Library’s new, online music streaming platform.
The platform is called SML Logjam. It is set to launch in August.
The SML Logjam will celebrate the music scene of Shreveport and Caddo Parish.
Area artists, bands and musicians are encouraged to submit their music for consideration into the online collection.
Those interested in submitting their works for inclusion can do so online here. SML Logjam will be open for submissions through August 1st.
Submissions should include 1 – 3 full-length tracks representative of the musician’s overall work.
Those selected to be a part of the SML Logjam will sign a 3-year licensing agreement with Shreve Memorial Library to have their work hosted on the site and will receive an honorarium for sharing their music in the collection.
Music chosen for inclusion must meet the following preliminary requirements:
· Majority of band members must be currently performing and/or based in the Shreveport/Caddo Parish area.
· Albums must be complete and released within the past five years.
· Musicians must own or control all rights to the music submitted.
· Musicians must be at least 15 years old. If the musician is 15 – 17 years of age, permission from a parent or legal guardian is required.
Shreve Memorial Library has partnered with Rabble to develop the SML Logjam platform.
