“The good news is, there’s a very weak candidate on the other side, convicted felon,” he said, referring to Trump before going on to criticize the former president’s economic plan.

Polis said he it’s up to Democrats to provide a “forward-looking alternative” to Trump, adding that “the burden is really on the president” at this point to show he can win.

Polis went on to say the question is whether Biden is “capable of running a winning campaign over the next three-and-a-half months.”

“And the evidence so far is, we’re down against a very weak Republican candidate, who’s a convicted felon, whose economic policies would be devastating, who’s threatening to take away our freedom,” he said. “So we should be up, and we’re down.”
