LOS ANGELES – Direct-to-consumer washable rug brand Ruggable has partnered with multidisciplinary artist and textile surface designer Malene Barnett to launch its newest collection.

Barnett, who is known for creating designs based on the modern black experience, said the collection is an homage to her heritage and she drew her inspiration from Black culture, art and contemporary design.

“My Ruggable collection, with its diverse patterns and color palette, has the power to transform spaces,” Barnet said. “It draws from the rich legacy of heritage design and textures—from Mali’s mud cloth textiles to Nuba body art and sgraffito pottery celebrating the essence of Black culture, art, and design.”

“Each rug features an asymmetrical layout and offers a multitude of possibilities for your interior, empowering you to create a space that truly reflects your style,” she added.

Barnett said the collection’s artisanal designs capture the spirituality and mysticism of indigenous African cultures with contemporary abstract patterns in rich hues of blue, green and ochre. She designed the artful array of patterns to invite all to foster a space for creativity and connection.

“As a brand that encourages everyone to embrace living fully, we’re excited to bring Malene’s joyful spirit and designs to our customers,” said Jenna Habayeb, Ruggable CMO. “We’re inspired by her—both by her contemporary, heritage-focused designs and her activist work to support Black creatives. Featuring bold colors and patterns, these pieces offer a statement to any room.”

The assortment consists of seven indoor rugs in flatwoven and tufted textures with prices starting from $109.
