SNCB enhances app functionality | Business Travel News Europe

Belgian rail operator SNCB this week rolled out an update to the journey planner functionality within its app and website.

The update allows travellers to view train type and composition before it arrives at the station, including details such as the location of the first-class car or bicycle car, and whether the train is air-conditioned or equipped with power outlets.

The rail operator said its latest update ensures “it can keep passengers even better informed”. The app also displays the estimated occupancy of each train.

SNCB previously reported a 7 per cent year-on-year increase in rail passenger journeys in 2023 and is currently in the initial stages of an ambitious expansion plan that will see an additional 2,000 trains per week enter service by the end of 2026.
