Parking restricted on U.S. 101 through Port Orford this week | Local News

On-street parking will be unavailable along U.S. 101 for three nights this week as contractors return to Port Orford and apply permanent striping to the highway.

The striping crew is scheduled to work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, July 10-12.

Striping will be applied across the width of U.S. 101, including areas used for parking. ODOT asks drivers to move all parked vehicles off the highway by 5 p.m. each day. The work zone extends along U.S. 101 from Madrona Street to Cemetery Loop Road.

This work had originally been scheduled for late June but was postponed due to broken equipment.

The $4.35 million U.S. 101 Garrison Slough to Cemetery Loop Road project paved the highway through Port Orford, replaced ADA curb ramps at more than a dozen intersections, installed streetlights and added pedestrian crossings. Tidewater Contractors are expected to finish work this month.
