(FOX40.COM) — The U.S. Marshals recently announced that they have joined the search for a man accused of committing a triple murder in Stockton nearly two weeks ago.
On June 25, the Stockton Police Department responded to the area of Visalia Court and Harbor Street for a suspected arson incident at a mobile home. When they arrived, a woman and two children were found dead.
The woman was identified as 33-year-old Lizbeth Josefina Gutiérrez and the two children were identified as her 7 and 10-year-old sons.
Law enforcement also learned that Gutiérrez was the ex-wife of the suspect, J. Carmen Cardona Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, who also goes by aliases like Jose Cardona, Jose Carmona-Estrada, Roberto Giron-Giron, Felipe Ramirez Leon, Juan Alonzo-Almendares, Juan Alonzo, Jose Avilla Cardona, and Andres Vecerra Torres, has been on the run since the incident at the mobile home occurred.
According to the U.S. Marshals, Rodriguez also has ties to Idaho and north Texas. He is described as a Hispanic man with brown hair, and brown eyes, and weighs about 190 pounds while standing at 5 feet and 7 inches.
Anyone with information on Cardona’s current location is urged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) at 1-877-WANTED-2 or submit a tip via the USMS Tips App. Tips may also be sent to Stockton Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600.
