DALLAS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An annual rite of Summer is officially underway which is a big hit with the community.
The annual Back Mountain Farmers Market kicked off Saturday at Dallas High School.
Many came out to see what roughly three dozen vendors had to offer. The market is a great way to eat organic for a reasonable price.
It features everything from produce and meat to flowers and crafts.
Shoppers say they are pleased to purchase from the event sponsored by the Back Mountain Memorial Library.
“I like to come out and support the local farmers. The produce doesn’t get any fresher than this so that’s why I’m here,” said Paula Opel from Dallas.
“It’s really nice. We miss the northeast farmers’ markets which is why we put this on our list for Saturday,” says Alexa Napoleon from Franklin, TN.
The Back Mountain Farmer’s Market is held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
It will run through the end of October.
