Today saw another warm one across the entire region with daytime highs ranging from the mid 90s to lower 100s across the Concho Valley. Winds out of the south-southeast were notable around 5-15mph as well keeping up that steady flow.
Into tonight we’ll hang on to our clear skies we saw today which will help us cool off into the mid 70s for a very summer-like night. Winds should remain fairly steady out of the southeast around 5-15mph, but might gust upwards of 20-25mph at times.
Going into the long term the triple digits are here for the majority of our first week of July. Make sure to practice heat safety al the way through the fourth of July holiday as I’m expecting those triple digits for all of the work week. Friday evening however looks to bring an uptick in rain chances as a week frontal boundary works into the region that could kick up some showers and storms. Along with this we could feed on some rain cooled air moving into the area keeping daytime highs from reaching the triple digits for next weekend if we’re lucky. Sunday looks to start warming us back up and going into July we’re expecting above average temperatures throughout the month according to the Climate Prediction Center.
