21 adult education graduates from Victoria College were honored in a ceremony on Saturday. In total, there were 57 adult education graduates that received their GEDs from Victoria College in the 2023-2024 school year.
Victoria College’s Adult Basic Education program offers both in-person and virtual classes for students as well as distanced learning which allows students to complete coursework on their own time using the internet.
The graduates honored during the ceremony were Sabrina Aldis, Fatima Blair, Ashley Brackett, Samara Carillo, Jacob Cartee, Ajah Casiano, Jadelyn Garcia, Melissa Garcia-Gonzalez, Jewel Guerrero, Raymond Knetig, Alexis Krogsgaard, Michelle Merrick, Chelsea Peterson, Joyce Reyes, Anita Trapp, Shyanna Tucker, Gloria Valdez, Taosha Westbrook, David Williams and Lashanda Wolfe.
The Adult Education program covers basic academic subjects to help adult students prepare to take the GED and become college ready. By obtaining a GED and enhancing basics, adult students are able to remain in the workforce. This also helps improve individual’s earning potential in the workforce.
This service is offered to counties within the Golden Crescent area such as Victoria, Gonzales, Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson and Lavaca counties.
