DENVER (KDVR) — Both directions of U.S. Highway 36 north of Boulder were closed for several hours for safety concerns Saturday morning after a head-on crash resulted in 100 gallons of diesel fuel being spilled on the road.
The road was reopened just after noon.
The crash, which occurred between a semi-truck and an SUV, happened around 5:21 a.m.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the SUV crossed into the other lane and was hit head-on.
